About The Position

Burrtec is hiring an Equipment Operator I at its Victorville location. The operator handles a combination of equipment used in material recovery, including forklifts, balers, wheel loaders, and sortlines. The role involves inspecting and maintaining equipment, following safety practices, and supporting material processing and shipment.

Requirements

• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Good judgment and ability to recognize equipment problems.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to operate forklift, loader, baler, bobcat, and sortline equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift experience and familiarity with operating various powered equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move recycled materials.
• Operate sortline panel controls and, as needed, provide guidance to sorters.
• Operate a baler to prepare material for shipment.
• Operate a wheel loader to load the sorting-line conveyor.
• Inspect equipment daily and report unsafe conditions.
• Stop operation of malfunctioning equipment.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to safety rules.
• Perform minor equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
