About The Position

The Equipment Cleaner scans durable medical equipment (DME) returned to the warehouse after pickup, cleans equipment, and performs basic repairs such as replacing a wheelchair wheel. The role uses an automated inventory system to scan equipment and update its status and location. It also monitors inventory and may conduct physical counts to help ensure an adequate supply of parts. Regular and reliable attendance at the employer-designated work site is an essential function. The position supports patient safety and hygiene by helping ensure medical equipment is clean and ready for use.

Requirements

• Ability to protect and maintain the confidentiality of patient protected health information and follow standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with CHAP and HIPAA.
• Basic mechanical skills for working with durable medical equipment.
• Ability to operate smart devices such as smartphones and tablets, computers, and handheld scanning devices.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Scan durable medical equipment as it arrives back at the warehouse from pickup.
• Clean durable medical equipment.
• Perform basic repairs on durable medical equipment, such as replacing a part or a wheelchair wheel.
• Use an automated inventory system and scanning devices to record equipment status and location.
• Monitor inventory and, when needed, conduct physical counts to ensure an adequate supply of parts.
• Follow standard operating procedures for cleaning and maintaining equipment and the warehouse.
• Protect the confidentiality of patient protected health information and follow CHAP and HIPAA requirements.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance at the employer-designated work site.
