About The Position

This position offers the ability to work remotely three days per week with a Flexible/Hybrid work schedule. The Tax Compliance Bureau (TCB) is recruiting for a candidate that is detail oriented, resourceful, and innovative to help strengthen operations and elevate the services provided. This position performs a range of analytical assignments including researching emerging technology, analyzing customer feedback, and designing, staging, and coordinating deployments of hardware or software for customers at multiple locations. It reviews security access and research frameworks to ensure customers receive accurate security permissions, provides technical support for bureau customers, and serves as a liaison to assist in resolving issues. The role functions as an analyst performing a range of assignments in support to maintain high volumes of equipment and complex security roles, working with other team members to serve a large customer base within the department. The position will design, develop, test, and implement automation tools to enhance customer service provided to internal customers. Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
  • Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of experience required.
  • Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
  • Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • For CLASSIFIED STATE OF MICHIGAN EMPLOYEES ONLY (Departmental Trainee): Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • For CLASSIFIED STATE OF MICHIGAN EMPLOYEES ONLY (Departmental Trainee): Four years of experience as an advanced 9-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
  • For CLASSIFIED STATE OF MICHIGAN EMPLOYEES ONLY (Departmental Trainee): Three years of experience as an E9, E10, or E11-level worker in an ECP Group One classification.
  • For CLASSIFIED STATE OF MICHIGAN EMPLOYEES ONLY (Departmental Trainee): Two years of experience as an experienced level worker in an ECP Group One technician or paraprofessional classification.
  • For CLASSIFIED STATE OF MICHIGAN EMPLOYEES ONLY (Departmental Trainee): Two years of experience as a first-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • For CLASSIFIED STATE OF MICHIGAN EMPLOYEES ONLY (Departmental Trainee): One year of experience as a second-line supervisor in an ECP Group Three classification.
  • Must have a secure, safe and appropriate designated workspace that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
  • Must have secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
  • Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan prior to being appointed.
  • The use of artificial intelligence (AI) software is prohibited.

Nice To Haves

  • Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • College credits may be substituted on a proportional basis (one year of college education may substitute for one quarter of the required experience) for up to one half of the required experience.
