About The Position

This position functions as a resource for the Michigan Intelligence Management System (MIMS) and its associated interfaces, including OK2Say, MICHTIP, Tips & Leads, DD-079, and Operations Request for Service (RFS) modules. The position is responsible for coordinating Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), supporting system design and functionality, and assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT). It also serves as the system administrator for (MIMS), including support of operations across live, testing, and training environments. This role works with internal staff, IT, vendors and external law enforcement partners to support system improvement, data integrity, and operational effectiveness, while ensuring consistency with departmental standards and program requirements. This position functions in a bias-free manner. The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
  • Departmental Analyst 9 - No specific type or amount is required.
  • Departmental Analyst 10 - One year of professional experience.
  • Departmental Analyst P11 - Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
  • Passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
