About The Position

As an Equine Underwriting Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and exposure to equine underwriting. Provide risk analysis examination and entry level underwriting. Core Specialty offers a diversified range of property and casualty insurance products for small to mid-sized businesses. From underwriting offices spanning the U.S., the Company focuses on niche markets, local distribution, and superior underwriting knowledge, offering traditional as well as innovative insurance solutions to meet the needs of its customers and brokers.

Requirements

Computer and administrative skills – general working knowledge of MS Office.
Equine Industry knowledge.
Strong emphasis on customer service and relationship building.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Reliable team player.
Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize projects.

Responsibilities

With the guidance, instruction and oversight of underwriting management, provide brokers competent & timely service, maintain accurate policy files and data management.
Assess & rate equine risks, utilizing accurate pricing and established underwriting guidelines.
Participate and contribute to special projects.
Administrative support to the underwriting team as needed.
