About The Position

Homestead Veterinary Hospital (HVH) is seeking an immediate, full-time, experienced Equine Associate Veterinarian to join our predominantly equine, multi-doctor practice in Villa Ridge, Missouri. We’re looking for a passionate, team-oriented veterinarian with strong communication skills and a desire to deliver exceptional client care. A special interest in sports medicine and lameness is highly desired, but all qualified applicants will be considered. HVH is a 6-doctor practice serving a diverse caseload of 70% equine, 25% small animal, and 5% small ruminant patients. Our practice supports all disciplines of equine sports - from backyard companions to elite sport horses. While primarily ambulatory, our 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art hospital features: Four stalls (including two mare/foal stalls and isolation), indoor stocks, and on-site RVTs providing 24-hour care as needed. We take pride in offering advanced diagnostics and treatments, including: Pre-purchase exams, lameness evaluations, regenerative medicine, ophthalmology, digital radiography & ultrasound, endoscopy, dentistry, CO₂ & therapeutic laser, shockwave therapy, field surgery, reproduction services, in-house lab, acupuncture, and 24/7/365 emergency care.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Current DEA license or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Active veterinary state license.
  • Experienced veterinarian in equine medicine.
  • Must be comfortable with travel as the role is primarily ambulatory.

Responsibilities

  • Offer 24/7/365 emergency care.
  • Support all disciplines of equine sports.
  • Work in a primarily ambulatory role, comfortable with travel.
