About The Position

Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Epic Clinical Information System Analyst II for our Cupid Cardiology Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. This role involves analyzing operational and clinical requirements, designing workflows, and configuring, building, testing, validating, and maintaining Epic application functionality. The analyst will manage complex application incidents, perform root-cause analysis, coordinate troubleshooting, and implement resolutions. They will also plan and lead application projects, enhancements, and process-improvement initiatives, acting as a liaison between end-users, leaders, and technical teams. The position requires assessing the impact of application changes, developing and executing testing plans, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Additionally, the analyst will provide guidance to less experienced team members, participate in go-lives and extended-hour support, and perform other related duties. Specific responsibilities include Cupid Build and Configuration (Cath and EP lab procedure documentation, sedation, implant and supply tracking), Non-invasive Configuration (echo, ECG, stress testing, Holter and event monitoring), integration with cardiovascular imaging and device interrogation systems, and collaboration with teams configuring other Epic modules. The role also involves production support, optimization, data capture for quality registries, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, sedation, radiation safety, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare, information systems, business, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 5-6 years of direct clinical, healthcare operations, clinical information systems, application support, or related experience, including experience with system implementation, optimization, or production support.
  • Must be able to complete required Epic training, projects, and examinations and participate in travel, on-call coverage, and extended-hour support as business needs require.

  • Epic experience is preferred.
  • Experience leading workstreams or mentoring colleagues is preferred.
  • Epic certification in the assigned application(s) is required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by AHC and maintained thereafter.
  • Current clinical licensure is preferred when relevant to the assigned application.

Responsibilities

  • Independently analyze intermediate-to-advanced operational and clinical requirements; design workflows and configure, build, test, validate, and maintain Epic application functionality using established standards and best practices.
  • Own complex application incidents and requests; perform root-cause analysis, coordinate cross-application troubleshooting, implement sustainable resolutions, and ensure timely communication with affected users and leaders.
  • Plan and lead small-to-medium application projects, enhancements, upgrades, and process-improvement initiatives; manage requirements, scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Serve as a liaison among end users, operational leaders, Epic representatives, and technical and application teams; facilitate workflow decisions and ensure solutions meet business needs, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Assess the impact of application changes across integrated workflows; develop and execute unit, integrated, regression, and user-acceptance testing and validate production outcomes.
  • Maintain application, workflow, testing, change-control, issue, and support documentation; develop knowledge articles, training materials, and procedures and support end-user education.
  • Provide guidance and quality review for less-experienced analysts and users; share application knowledge and promote consistent build, testing, and documentation practices.
  • Participate in go-lives, upgrades, downtimes, and on-call or extended-hour support; communicate project and issue status, risks, dependencies, and escalation needs to leadership.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Cupid Build and Configuration: Cath and EP lab procedure documentation, sedation, and implant and supply tracking.
  • Non-invasive Configuration: echo, ECG, stress testing, and Holter and event monitoring, with structured reports and cardiologist reading worklists.
  • Integration and Cross-Application Coordination with hemodynamic monitoring, ECG management, cardiovascular imaging and PACS, and device interrogation.
  • Work with teams that configure: Radiant, OpTime, Anesthesia, Cadence, ClinDoc, Ambulatory, Supply Chain, and Resolute.
  • Design sessions, device integration testing, and support in cardiovascular areas for go-live and beyond.
  • Production Support and Optimization: Handle incidents, on-call if applicable, lab utilization and report turnaround analysis, and dashboards for cardiovascular leaders.
  • Quality, Registry, and Compliance: Data capture for ACC NCDR registries; Joint Commission, sedation, and radiation safety requirements; and HIPAA.
