About The Position

The Epic Professional Billing Application Analyst II is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting the clinical, financial, or administrative Epic modules within their area of support. This role oversees practices and processes to ensure the integrity, safety, and availability of all data and applications, supporting the goals and objectives of the customer as well as the business needs of Hoag. The analyst collaborates with key stakeholders, end users, and other members of the business teams to optimize system configuration, function, and access, and recommends technology solutions based on business needs. The position requires knowledge of the organization’s policies, procedures, and business operations. The analyst independently manages problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems, and optimization opportunities, participating in the timely resolution of these activities. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving highly complex application errors and other system issues. The analyst actively leads and takes ownership for the build and maintenance of various system dictionaries, profiles, tables, and other configuration points. They identify system enhancement requests and work with the team to implement them as applicable, independently managing small to medium-sized optimization requests and demonstrating the capacity to take on progressively larger and more complex requests. Coordination with the vendor is required as appropriate. The analyst tests the system, including any configurations, customizations, and new releases, prior to production implementation. They work with end-users to assist with the design and testing of system reports and communicate changes to end users and other staff as applicable. Participation as a team member in various projects is expected, including preparing for and participating in system design, validation, and/or remediation sessions. Understanding data flow and supporting/developing interface files is also part of the role. The analyst develops and maintains documentation (knowledge base articles) outlining standard operating and support procedures. All functions are performed with minimal supervision. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with Epic Professional Billing build.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Experience participating as a project team member on a large-scale project.
  • Epic Professional Billing certification is required.
  • Certification includes completing application certification projects and tests.
  • Have at least one secondary certification and/or badge relevant to supported module.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience with application, module or equivalent system as assigned, including experience working in a health care environment department, preferably in an integrated health system environment.
  • Other certification with the application(s) within their area of responsibility and support.
