About The Position

The Epic Application Analyst – Patient Access supports the implementation, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing operation of Epic Patient Access applications, with primary responsibility for Cadence, Prelude, and Real-Time Eligibility (RTE). This position collaborates with clinical, operational, and technical teams to analyze workflows, design system solutions, troubleshoot application issues, and improve patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, eligibility, and front-end revenue cycle processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience supporting Epic Patient Access applications, including application build, configuration, testing, implementation, optimization, and production support.
  • Experience supporting patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, eligibility workflows, and front-end revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience configuring and supporting Epic Real-Time Eligibility workflows, including payer connectivity, eligibility-response troubleshooting, and insurance-verification optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing workflows, gathering requirements, developing application solutions, and collaborating with operational stakeholders.
  • Epic Cadence Certification.
  • Epic Prelude Certification.
  • Epic Real-Time Eligibility Certification.

  • Five or more years of experience supporting Epic Patient Access applications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze clinical, business, and technical processes to develop system solutions supporting Epic Patient Access applications, including Cadence, Prelude, and Real-Time Eligibility (RTE).
  • Manage application upgrades, implementations, optimization initiatives, and assigned projects.
  • Provide technical and application assistance to clients and IT staff supporting patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and eligibility workflows.
  • Conduct workflow analysis to identify opportunities for improving patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, eligibility, and front-end revenue cycle workflows.
  • Design and implement application solutions to meet departmental and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with departments and stakeholders to prioritize development initiatives, enhancements, and workflow optimization.
  • Support effective system utilization by aligning application functionality with operational processes.
  • Maintain and support Epic Patient Access applications, including Cadence, Prelude, and Real-Time Eligibility (RTE).
  • Configure, test, troubleshoot, install, and maintain assigned Epic application modules.
  • Investigate and resolve application issues involving payer connectivity, eligibility responses, insurance verification, scheduling, and registration workflows.
  • Ensure system changes follow established testing, documentation, and change-management procedures.
  • Participate in daily production support and implementation activities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for assigned applications, configurations, workflows, and system changes.
  • Develop, plan, and execute testing for supported Epic Patient Access applications.
  • Prepare clear instructions, reference materials, and application documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT educators to update training plans, documentation, and user-support resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between the IT Department, operational departments, external vendors, and clients.
  • Facilitate meetings, provide clear project and application updates, and assist with resolving technical and operational concerns.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify application requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Provide project-management support as required.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior analysts and supervise assigned work efforts as directed by the manager.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule and provide after-hours support as necessary.
  • Travel occasionally to other offices for user support, training, implementations, and conferences.
  • Adhere to internal controls and reporting structures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
