About The Position

The Environmental Technician assists with collecting, identifying, packaging, and lab packing hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The position also performs administrative duties at client sites and participates in on-site spill response activities as needed. Duties include work throughout customer facilities and handling waste in compliance with applicable requirements.

Requirements

• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.

• Ability to use heavy and light equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Skill using hand and shop tools and instruments.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver's license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups throughout a customer's facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Participate in spill response at the customer's site as needed.
• Operate forklifts.
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of waste-hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste-stream sampling and profiling.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
