About The Position

The Environmental Technician II performs routine and frequent manual and heavy labor tasks to treat, store, pack, move, and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and cost-effective practices and Clean Earth policies and procedures. The role may operate heavy equipment when properly trained and completes waste sampling, handling, packaging, and required documentation.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Ability to operate equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Ability to wear company-provided personal protective equipment, including eye protection, steel-toed shoes, a hard hat, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and a respirator.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience sampling and receiving hazardous waste.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and operate fork trucks and other heavy equipment, when properly trained, to move materials for storage, loading and off-loading, or production.
• Collect samples of inbound waste for laboratory analysis.
• Complete required paperwork in accordance with company practices and procedures.
• Separate and pack materials for transport and disposal.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.
