About The Position

This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to clients. The work includes sampling and profiling materials; manifesting, packaging, labeling, loading and unloading waste; responding to spills and carrying out remedial activities; and coordinating transportation. The role requires following applicable state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, along with Veolia policies and procedures. The employee also operates and maintains equipment, supports clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions, and completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
Strong team-player skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to follow through on assignments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
Manifest, package, label, load and unload materials; respond to spills and perform spill clean-up and remedial activities; and coordinate transportation.
Maintain a professional image with clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce compliance, health, safety, and other procedures in accordance with VES-TS policies.
Become familiar with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and VES-TS regulations required for submitting paperwork to expedite hazardous-waste disposal.
Operate and maintain equipment professionally to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
