About The Position

This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to clients. It involves manifesting, packaging, spill response, labeling, loading and unloading, coordinating transportation, and sampling or profiling materials while following state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. The role also requires maintaining equipment, providing professional customer service, and complying with applicable company, Department of Transportation, and Environmental Protection Agency requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
Strong team-player skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to follow through on assignments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.

Responsibilities

Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
Manifest, package, label, load and unload materials; respond to spills and perform cleanup or remedial activities; and coordinate transportation.
Answer client inquiries professionally and suggest solutions to existing or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce compliance, health, safety, and procedural requirements in accordance with VES-TS policies.
Become familiar with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation, Environmental Protection Agency, and VES-TS regulations needed to submit paperwork and expedite hazardous-waste disposal.
Operate and maintain equipment professionally to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
