About The Position

This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to clients at a customer site in Aliso Viejo, California. The role includes sampling and profiling materials, preparing hazardous waste for disposal, coordinating transportation, and responding to spills while complying with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. The specialist operates and maintains equipment, supports clients professionally, and follows applicable Veolia policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
Strong team-player abilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong customer service orientation.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to follow through on assignments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.

Responsibilities

Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
Manifest, package, label, load, and unload materials; respond to spills and perform cleanup or remedial activities; and coordinate transportation.
Answer client inquiries professionally and suggest solutions to existing or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce applicable compliance, health, safety, and procedural requirements in accordance with VES-TS policies.
Become familiar with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and VES-TS regulations for submitting paperwork to expedite hazardous waste disposal.
Operate and maintain equipment professionally to support optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
