About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Nampa, Idaho, is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper). The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, plus every other weekend. The role supports infection prevention, patient safety, environmental-of-care compliance, and the appearance of assigned areas by cleaning and disinfecting hospital spaces, handling waste and soiled linen, preparing rooms for patients, and completing special cleaning projects. The technician also provides directions, hospital information, guest-room services, and general hospitality to patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

Disinfect patient treatment areas, invasive care areas, and staff and visitor areas to support infection prevention, patient safety, environmental-of-care compliance, and the appearance of assigned areas.
Collect, store, and dispose of general medical, biohazard, pharmaceutical, chemotherapy, and sharps waste, as well as soiled linen, according to established policies and procedures.
Interact verbally with patients and visitors to provide directions, hospital information, guest-room services, and general hospitality.
Complete project work such as changing cubicle curtains, construction cleanup, floor refinishing, carpet cleaning, wall washing, and refrigerator cleaning.
Prepare patient rooms, exam rooms, and patient support areas for new patients through disinfection, bed making, floor care, and supply replenishment.
