About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital – Richmond is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician (EVS) to help maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and welcoming hospital environment. The role supports a critical illness recovery hospital that provides inpatient post-ICU care to chronically and critically ill patients. The technician performs routine housekeeping and light manual work in assigned areas, following established schedules and procedures and using cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease. Schedules are 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Compensation is $17.23–$21 per hour.

High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to customer service excellence when interacting with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobbies.
Help maintain the overall sanitation, order, and appearance of the hospital.
Perform light manual work and complete routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture using dust cloths and a vacuum cleaner; empty ashtrays and trash buckets; and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
Make beds with clean linen in the prescribed manner; scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment; and replenish soap, towels, and other dispensable supplies.
