Environmental Services Technician (EVS) - Full-Time Day Shift
About The Position
Select Specialty Hospital - Richmond is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician (EVS), also described as Housekeeping, to maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and presentable hospital environment. The role performs routine housekeeping tasks in assigned areas, which may include patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas. Cleaning includes washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with cleaning solutions and disinfectants to help prevent the spread of disease, as well as dusting, vacuuming, disposing of trash, arranging furniture and equipment, making beds, polishing sinks and other fixtures, and replenishing supplies. The technician is expected to demonstrate customer-service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to customer-service excellence in interactions with patients, family members, visitors, and staff.
- Maintain a clean work environment in assigned hospital areas, including patient rooms, offices, nurses’ stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
- Help maintain the overall sanitation, order, and appearance of the hospital.
- Perform light manual work and complete routine housekeeping tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
- Clean assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- Dust window sills, blinds, floors, and furniture using dust cloths and a vacuum cleaner.
- Empty ashtrays and trash buckets and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
- Make beds with clean linen in the prescribed manner.
- Scour and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors, and similar equipment.
- Replenish supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
