Environmental Services (EVS) Technician - Day Shift

About The Position

Performs cleaning and sanitizing tasks and operates equipment to care for and maintain the facility. Tracks cleaning inventory and equipment to ensure the products and equipment needed for daily tasks are available. The role may include interior painting or touch-up, scrubbing production floors, and operating a forklift. The technician is expected to follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment, report needed repairs and safety concerns, and contribute to the company’s strategic, quality, and safety objectives. The position also requires a collaborative, professional approach with customers, suppliers, coworkers, and management, consistent with Steffes’ Code of Conduct, Core Values, and policies.

Requirements

Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Ability to walk, sit, or stand for a significant amount of time.
Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel, and bend.
Ability to handle, feel, and grip for some activities.
Visual acuity to inspect completed work.
Ability to learn tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, and complete tasks independently.
Ability to make timely decisions within a workflow and communicate with visitors.
Ability to complete tasks in environments with speed or productivity quotas.
Must follow applicable safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, polish, or vacuum floors in designated areas.
Clean and polish walls and windows.
Empty and clean waste containers and remove refuse from the facility.
Vacuum and spot-clean carpets.
Clean rest rooms and maintain their supplies.
Clean and sanitize break rooms, common areas, and kitchens, including sinks, counters, appliances, floors, walls, tables, chairs, and other frequently touched surfaces; remove waste materials.
Maintain a minimum inventory of supplies.
Use personal protective equipment properly and follow safety guidelines.
Identify needed repairs and adjustments and report them to a supervisor.
Assist with interior painting or touch-up work as needed.
Sweep and scrub production floors as needed.
Operate a forklift if required.
Maintain a positive, collaborative work atmosphere when communicating with customers, suppliers, coworkers, and management.
Help the company meet its strategic, quality, and safety objectives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Follow Environmental, Health, and Safety training and procedures; report incidents or concerns promptly and contribute to the EHS program.
Participate in job-specific training and complete work according to standard work, processes, and procedures; notify a supervisor when work cannot be completed as required.
