About The Position

As an Environmental Services Technician Associate at Corewell Health, you help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of floors, carpets, and upholstery. You will communicate and collaborate with team members to coordinate services and contribute to a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills.

This part-time position is based at Pennock Hospital in Hastings, Michigan. The role is scheduled for 24 hours per week, with day-shift hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on variable days and every other weekend. Team members may be expected to work across department sites to meet coverage and business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience is required; the employee will be trained and supported.
• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting is listed as experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance issues and communicate special cleaning requirements in assigned work areas.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
• Function in two or more areas of responsibility.
• Work across department sites for coverage and business needs when expected.
