About The Position

The Environmental Services Associate Technician cleans and disinfects assigned patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas; removes and disposes of linens and waste; and maintains floors, carpets, and upholstery. The role also involves preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, coordinating with team members, reporting maintenance or specialized cleaning needs, and helping visitors and employees navigate the hospital. The technician works within one cleaning area and may work at other department sites to support coverage and business needs. No experience is required; training and support are provided.

• Ability to read and follow instructions.

• Public service or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to support continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating the hospital.
• Work across department sites when needed for coverage and business needs.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk-mitigation measures, and complete required safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
