About The Position

As an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health, you help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. The role calls for communication and collaboration with team members to coordinate services and foster a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn new skills and develop your career.

The position is based at Troy Hospital and is part-time, with 20 scheduled hours per week. The day shift is listed as 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on variable days, with every other weekend required. Work may extend across department sites to meet coverage and business needs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies needed to complete tasks according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating through the hospital.
• Work within a designated cleaning area and, when needed, across department sites for coverage and business needs.
