About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician maintains a safe, clean, and welcoming hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors by following established departmental procedures and standards. The role involves detailed cleaning to meet hygiene and safety requirements, including infection-prevention procedures in patient rooms and specialty areas. The technician also provides excellent customer service and prioritizes assisting customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform the six-step daily cleaning procedure in patient rooms to a level acceptable to the patient.
• Perform checkout cleaning in patient rooms according to departmental policies and procedures, including cleaning medical equipment.
• Perform intensive cleaning in specialty areas such as the Emergency Department, Surgery, and Pharmacy to eliminate infection risk to patients.
• Remove and transport soiled linens, trash, infectious waste, and recycling according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Prioritize assisting customers above all other duties.
• Follow the organizational customer service script when cleaning an occupied room.
