About The Position

This position performs general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The role is based at Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with alternating weekends. Pay is based on experience, with an hourly range of $17.68 to $22.99. The employee cleans and disinfects assigned areas; uses and disposes of cleaning chemicals, infectious waste, and trash according to applicable procedures and standards; and responds to emergency spills. The role follows infection-prevention practices and maintains work and storage areas in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Requirements

Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals and follow written and/or verbal directions.
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
Follow procedures for disposing of infectious waste and trash.
Handle and clean up emergency spills according to department guidelines and Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
Follow infection-prevention practices, including cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain work and storage areas according to established policies and procedures to ensure safety.
