About The Position

This position performs general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The role is based at Primary Childrens in Lehi, Utah, and is scheduled for 32 hours per week, Friday through Monday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The posting states that the position includes full-time benefits.

The Environmental Services Tech cleans and disinfects assigned areas according to department procedures, uses cleaning chemicals in accordance with Joint Commission and OSHA standards, and follows procedures for infectious waste and trash disposal. The role also includes responding to emergency spills, following infection prevention practices, and maintaining work and storage areas according to established safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to differentiate color-coded labels and/or chemicals and follow written and/or verbal directions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Follow procedures for disposing of infectious waste and trash.
• Handle and clean up emergency spills according to department guidelines and Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Follow infection prevention practices, including cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of PPE.
• Maintain work and storage areas according to established policies and procedures to ensure safety.
