About The Position

This position performs cleaning tasks, moves equipment and furniture, and maintains floors to provide patients, visitors, and health sciences staff with a safe, clean environment. The role helps maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infection-control issues, under direct supervision. Work areas include patient care, public, clinical, research, laboratory, meeting, and office spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic cleaning tasks, move equipment and furniture, and maintain floors in the assigned area under direct supervision.
• Move biohazardous waste for proper disposal and move and remove regular trash to designated receptacles.
• Help maintain personal protective equipment deemed appropriate through job hazard assessments.
• Help provide patients, visitors, and health sciences staff with a safe and clean environment.
• Support standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infection.
• Clean patient care, public, clinical, research, laboratory, meeting, and office spaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet department and institutional goals and objectives.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work while applying St. Jude values and principles.
