Environmental Services Attendant
About The Position
The Environmental Services Attendant performs cleaning tasks, moves equipment and furniture, and maintains floors to help provide patients, visitors, and health sciences staff with a safe and clean environment. The position supports standards of cleanliness and sanitation and helps keep spaces free from hazards and infection control issues. Work is performed under direct supervision and includes cleaning patient care, public, clinical, research, laboratory, meeting, and office spaces, as well as moving biohazardous waste and regular trash to designated receptacles. The attendant also helps maintain appropriate personal protective equipment, provides regular and predictable attendance, and performs other duties assigned to support departmental and institutional goals. Employees are expected to meet job expectations, follow policies, deliver quality work, and participate in the performance management process.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning tasks, move equipment and furniture, and maintain floors in the assigned area under direct supervision.
- Move biohazardous waste for proper disposal and move regular trash to designated waste receptacles.
- Assist in maintaining personal protective equipment deemed appropriate through job hazard assessments.
- Help provide patients, visitors, and health sciences staff with a safe and clean environment.
- Support standards of cleanliness and sanitation and help keep spaces free from hazards and infection issues.
- Clean patient care, public, clinical, research, laboratory, meeting, and office spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet departmental and institutional goals and objectives.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Meet job expectations, adhere to policies, deliver quality work, and participate in performance management processes.
