About The Position

The Environmental Services Associate performs cleaning and sanitizing work to help prevent the spread of disease. The role includes properly disposing of waste and maintaining patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition. This position is onsite at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and is scheduled for 40 hours per week on the day shift.

Requirements

Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply them safely.
Working knowledge of cleaning tools such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Zero to one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning duties according to organizational standards, established schedules, and infection control guidelines.
Complete waste stream removal.
Clean and service assigned areas according to established procedures.
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies within Medical Center departments and perform cleaning duties to keep the hospital neat, orderly, and sanitary.
Operate assigned equipment, including floor machines and buffers.
Participate in at least eight unit or department meetings annually.
Maintain assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
