About The Position
The Environmental Services Associate 2 provides a clean and sanitary environment within the facility and must meet population-specific competencies. The role adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate to its level of patient contact. The position reports to the assigned shift supervisor. It may involve additional or varied physical demands and/or respiratory fit-test requirements. The work carries potential exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals; standard precautions must be followed.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of experience performing the job duties of Environmental Services Associate I.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Meet population-specific competencies.
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals appropriate to the level of patient contact.
- Follow standard precautions.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning functions in assigned areas according to established procedures and schedules.
- Report needed project work to the supervisor, including equipment failures and supply needs.
- Keep equipment, housekeeping closets, and/or storage areas clean and stocked.
- Mix and maintain cleaning solutions.
- Assist with orientation and on-the-job training of new employees.
- Fill and push or pull trash and linen carts as needed.
- Use equipment such as a floor buffer, auto scrubber, bovac, carpet extractors, scrapers, grout brush, and wall washer.
