Environmental Services Associate (As Needed, Reynoldsburg)
About The Position
Environmental Service Associates clean and maintain assigned areas of the organization, including patient rooms, public areas, and service areas. They provide customer service while completing tasks that support departmental and organizational processes. Assignments may be defined by specific jobs or tasks and may include moving beds or furniture, stocking supplies and linens, and maintaining storeroom areas. Associates follow established procedures, use equipment properly, complete required paperwork, and help uphold hospital cleanliness and safety standards. The role emphasizes safety, quality, efficiency, and a high level of customer service.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Applicants aged 16 or 17 without a high school diploma or GED must have a valid work permit.
- Applicants aged 18 who are enrolled in high school do not need a high school diploma, GED, or work permit.
- For applicants over 18 who are not enrolled in high school, a high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Obtain assigned cleaning or maintenance requests through an automated system, daily assignment sheet, or verbal direction.
- Perform other assigned functions, including moving beds or furniture as needed to serve customers or complete cleaning.
- Follow departmental and organizational processes when completing assigned duties.
- Complete paperwork required to monitor departmental statistics.
- Follow directions for proper use and cleanliness of equipment used in the job; equipment varies by assignment.
- Notify appropriate areas of equipment or miscellaneous-item needs through work orders and other required paperwork.
- Keep assigned carts and areas stocked to appropriate operating levels, including distributing linens.
- Complete other assigned duties, which may include storeroom maintenance, to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards.
- Provide a high level of customer service to patients and other customers throughout the OhioHealth organization.
- Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency when performing job duties.
