About The Position

Environmental Services Associates clean and maintain assigned areas of the organization, including patient rooms, public areas, and service areas. They provide customer service while completing assigned tasks that support departmental and organizational processes. Assignments may be defined by specific job or task responsibilities and can include moving beds or furniture, maintaining storerooms, and other duties as assigned. The role requires following established departmental and organizational processes and maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Individuals aged 16 or 17 without a high school diploma or GED must have a valid work permit.
• Individuals aged 18 who are enrolled in high school do not need a high school diploma, GED, or work permit.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED is preferred for individuals over 18 who are not enrolled in high school.

Responsibilities

• Obtain assigned cleaning or maintenance requests through an automated system, daily assignment sheet, or verbal direction.
• Perform assigned cleaning and maintenance tasks, including moving beds or furniture when required.
• Follow departmental and organizational processes and complete paperwork needed to monitor departmental statistics.
• Use job-related equipment appropriately and keep it clean; submit work orders or other required paperwork to address equipment and miscellaneous-item needs.
• Keep assigned carts and areas stocked to appropriate operating levels, including distributing linen.
• Complete other duties as assigned, including storeroom maintenance, to meet hospital cleanliness and safety standards.
• Provide a high level of customer service to patients and other customers throughout the OhioHealth organization.
• Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
