Environmental Services Assistant Manager
About The Position
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is hiring an Environmental Services Assistant Manager to oversee cleaning and sanitation services at a long-term care facility. The role manages and supervises environmental services staff and supports the EVS Manager in daily operations, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards comply with federal, state, and local regulations. The assistant manager maintains operational records, trains staff, communicates with facility stakeholders, monitors work quality, and supports compliance with safety and infection-control policies. The position requires residency within the service area and the ability to meet the stated physical demands.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and report generation.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Residency within the service area.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities management is desired.
Responsibilities
- Assist the EVS Manager in overseeing daily environmental services operations and maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Manage and supervise environmental services staff, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards meet applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff assignments, and supplies and equipment inventory.
- Train staff in cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and infection-control measures.
- Communicate with staff, residents, and facility management about operational needs and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect cleaning work for quality and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Represent HCSG through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
