About The Position
The Environmental Services Assistant Manager oversees cleaning and sanitation services at a long-term care facility and assists the EVS Manager with daily operations. The role supervises environmental services staff and ensures cleanliness and sanitation standards meet applicable federal, state, and local regulations. It also involves maintaining operational records, training staff, communicating with facility stakeholders, ensuring safety and infection-control practices, and inspecting the quality of cleaning work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and report generation.
- Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Residency within the service area is required.

- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities management.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise environmental services staff.
- Assist the EVS Manager in overseeing daily environmental services operations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff assignments, and supplies and equipment inventory.
- Train staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and infection-control measures.
- Communicate with staff, residents, and facility management about operational needs and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect cleaning work and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Represent HCSG through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
