Environmental Services Assistant Manager
About The Position
The Environmental Services Assistant Manager oversees cleaning and sanitation services at a long-term care facility. The role manages and supervises environmental services staff and assists the EVS Manager with daily team operations, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position includes maintaining operational records, training staff, communicating with stakeholders, and inspecting cleaning work for quality and compliance. The role also requires courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and report generation.
- Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Residency within the service area is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities management is desired.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise environmental services staff.
- Assist the EVS Manager in overseeing daily environmental services operations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff assignments, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Train staff on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and infection control measures.
- Communicate with staff, residents, and facility management regarding operational needs and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect cleaning tasks for quality and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Represent HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
