Environmental Services Assistant Manager
About The Position
Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is seeking an Environmental Services (EVS) Assistant Manager to oversee cleaning and sanitation services at a long-term care facility. The position assists the EVS Manager with daily operations and supervises environmental services staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and compliance with applicable regulations. The role includes maintaining operational records, training staff, communicating with facility stakeholders, and inspecting work quality. The employee must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies and reside within the service area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and report generation.
- Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Residency within the service area is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or facilities management is desired.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise environmental services staff, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist the EVS Manager in overseeing daily operations of the environmental services team.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules, staff assignments, and inventories of supplies and equipment.
- Conduct staff training on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and infection control measures.
- Communicate with staff, residents, and facility management regarding operational needs and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect cleaning work for quality and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Represent HCSG positively through courteous and cooperative interactions with supervisors, co-workers, clients, residents, and guests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
