About The Position

The Environmental Service Worker performs cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, hallways, offices, and public areas of the hospital. This includes cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas and replenishing supplies. The position is full time, with listed schedules of 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m., and rotating weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient-care and non-patient-care areas using standard cleaning procedures.
• Clean patient rooms at checkout and isolation rooms using the standard Seven Step Procedure.
• Remove and dispose of regular and infectious waste.
• Spot-wash walls, ceilings, and glass fixtures in patient-care and non-patient-care areas.
• Vacuum carpets in carpeted areas.
• Label, mix, and use cleaning solutions according to department and manufacturer guidelines.
• Attend required in-services, training sessions, and department meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
