About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking an Environmental Service Worker to perform housekeeping functions in assigned areas of an institutional, secure setting. The role includes cleaning, waxing, buffing, and vacuuming floors; dusting and polishing furniture and equipment; cleaning restrooms and common areas; and recycling or disposing of trash. The worker assembles and maintains necessary materials, equipment, supplies, and inventory of cleaning solutions. Responsibilities also include maintaining clean floors, walls, and ceilings, restocking supplies, operating power cleaning and sanitation equipment, and transporting and disposing of infectious waste or contaminated materials. The worker inspects for items that could be used as contraband, weapons, or implements of escape by inmates or residents, and ensures tools, supplies, and equipment are securely stored or safely disposed of and kept in proper working order. The position pays $23.88 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or related custodial work.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas as needed.
• Set up and operate power equipment used in cleaning and sanitation.
• Transport and dispose of infectious waste or contaminated material.
• Inspect for items that could be used as contraband, weapons, or implements of escape by inmates or residents.
• Provide for secure storage or safe disposal of tools, supplies, and equipment, and maintain tools in proper working order.
