Environmental Service Worker (Part Time, Nights)

About The Position

As a member of the housekeeping staff at Nicklaus Children's Health System, the Environmental Service Worker cleans and maintains assigned areas to help provide a positive experience for patients, families, visitors, and employees. The position supports the health system's mission of making a difference in children's lives every day. Duties include routine cleaning and disinfection, handling trash and soiled linen, replenishing supplies, reporting safety hazards, and providing courteous customer service. The worker also performs terminal cleaning when needed and responds to communications within the timeframe specified by the leader.

Requirements

Able to comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
Able to communicate to request supplies and write identifying information.
Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with clients and co-workers.
Able to follow simple instructions to accomplish repetitive tasks.
Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

High school education or equivalent.
Prior customer service experience.
Housekeeping and/or maintenance experience.
Floor care experience.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned work areas, including gathering materials, refilling carts, removing trash, disposing of red bags, disinfecting bathrooms, and dusting.
Clean and disinfect emergency spills and debris immediately.
Ensure equipment is in good working order.
Remove and properly dispose of trash and soiled linen.
Replenish supplies and linen.
Report safety hazards and defects immediately.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and internal customers.
Greet patients and families courteously when entering rooms.
Perform special cleaning procedures, including terminal cleaning, when needed.
Respond to verbal speech, alarm signals, radio, and telephone communications within the timeframe specified by the leader.
