About The Position

The Environmental Service Worker II performs cleaning and environmental services in designated work areas at Kettering Health Troy. The role supports a safe and sanitary healthcare environment through routine cleaning, waste handling, sterile-area cleaning, supply delivery, laundry tasks, and other utility duties. The position requires professional interaction with staff and patients, accurate documentation, flexibility in response to schedule or staffing changes, and adherence to safety guidelines and proper PPE use.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping and/or a service-related field.
Floor care experience.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 10 to 25 pounds daily.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service to staff and patients.
Knowledge of electronic devices such as computers and tablets.
Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand written instructions in English.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Ability to plan and initiate responsibilities and follow through with minimal direction.
Strong communication skills, attitude, and attendance.

Responsibilities

Perform required cleaning functions for designated work areas.
Document daily assignments and maintain records.

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly in all aspects of the job.
Report equipment issues to the appropriate person or department.
Engage professionally with staff and patients.
Handle regular and hazardous waste and operate waste-processing equipment.
Clean sterile areas, including operating rooms, sterile processing areas, and MRI areas.
Deliver supplies to the correct locations.
Operate laundry equipment and change curtains.
Perform various utility duties as assigned.
Store equipment appropriately.
