About The Position

As an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health, you will help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. You will communicate and collaborate with team members to coordinate services and contribute to a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn new skills and develop your career. The role is based at the Care Center Rockford and may require work across department sites for coverage and business needs. It is part-time, with 20 scheduled hours per week, an evening shift from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., variable workdays, and work every third weekend.

Requirements

• No experience is required; training and support are provided.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Public service and/or customer service experience.
• Experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance needs and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating through the hospital.
• Work fully within one cleaning area and, as needed, across department sites for coverage and business needs.
