About The Position

As an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health, you help support high-quality patient care by cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining floors, carpets, and upholstery. The role requires communication and collaboration with team members to support continuity of service and a positive work environment. No experience is required; training and support are provided, with opportunities to learn and develop new skills.

The position is based at the Care Center Rockford and is part-time, with 20 scheduled hours per week. The shift is evenings, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., on variable days, including every third weekend. Work may take place across department sites as needed for coverage and business needs.

Requirements

• No experience is required; training and support are provided.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Public service, customer service, hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies according to department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees with navigating the hospital.
• Work within one cleaning area and, as needed, across department sites for coverage and business needs.
