Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
  • Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • MS Office experience
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, research, and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Master’s degree in environmental sciences or closely related field
  • 1 year of experience conducting environmental field surveys such as wetland delineations or protected species surveys
  • Working knowledge of federal environmental regulations, such as National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act (Sections 404 and 401), Endangered Species Act (Section 7)
  • Experience working with state regulations and agencies (such as TxDOT, TCEQ and TPWD or equivalent agencies from other states or territories)
  • Experience supporting environmental reports, documents, worksheets, and/or forms, such as but not limited to wetland delineation forms, NEPA documents (categorical exclusions and environmental assessments), habitat assessments, USACE permitting, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
  • Proficiency with GIS software (ArcMap, ArcPro) to analyze data and produce maps
  • Experience with using electronic data collection software, such as Field Maps and Survey123
  • Drone Certification (FAA Part 107)

Responsibilities

  • Work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, transportation, power, and facility site development projects
  • Work under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientists, senior planners, project managers, and engineers
  • Take responsibility for assisting with environmental permits, NEPA documentation, biological assessments and other environmental compliance documentation
  • Assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work associated with the collection of natural resource data
  • Write, plan and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, and similar reports/documents
  • Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition and compliance
  • Perform other related duties as needed
