About The Position

SGS is hiring an Environmental Sample Courier for its Dayton, New Jersey laboratory. The role is responsible for picking up and delivering samples and sampling kits to and from SGS clients throughout New Jersey, following a predefined route. The courier provides professional client service, documents sample transfers, checks sample temperatures, and maintains the company vehicle and a safe driving record. The position works Monday through Friday, four 10-hour days, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; flexible hours may occasionally be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions safely, accurately, and on time.
Ability to read formal maps.
Personable approach and ability to establish good relationships with clients.
Ability to work well both independently and with others.
Flexible work hours may be required from time to time.
Ability to travel to other SGS locations or client locations.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull more than 50 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

Follow a predefined route to pick up client samples and deliver them to SGS laboratories.
Provide courteous, efficient, professional, safe, and timely sample pickup and sampling-supply delivery service to clients.
Complete log sheets and obtain customer signatures for chain-of-custody and billing purposes.
Take sample temperatures upon receipt.
Keep the company vehicle clean and in good order.
Maintain a safe and satisfactory driving record.
Complete SGS Defensive Driver training courses as required.
Comply with company Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
