Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science (including chemistry or biology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • Professional engineer (i.e., P.Eng) or qualified for professional registration in the future
  • At least 5 years of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or equivalent combination of education (advanced degree) and experience.
  • Developing environmental noise inventories
  • Environmental noise modelling
  • Effective and clear communication skills (oral and writing) including communication of complex ideas and results.
  • Regular fieldwork and overnight travel.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

  • Experience working on demanding, sophisticated, and potentially legally sensitive projects.

Responsibilities

  • Technical writing (reports, letter, memoranda, work plans, etc.) and complex data analysis, including developing noise inventories, performing environmental noise modelling, and assessing vibration will be a significant component of the overall duties.
  • Working with a diverse team to support challenging technical projects including task and project management, leading technical assessments, budgeting and budget management, adhering to schedule, ensuring quality, and delivering on client satisfaction.
  • At times, the job may also include fieldwork primarily focused on site inspections.
