About The Position

RWDI is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our Environmental Noise & Vibration team. This position supports clients across buildings, infrastructure, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will have several years’ experience working in environmental noise and/or vibration fields. The role includes but is not limited to: Conducting noise/acoustical/ vibration assessments requiring the application of standard and non-standard analysis techniques and procedures. Entering, manipulating, and analyzing data in database applications. Preparing reports for clients, as well as facility layouts and site plans. Engaging in peer review, design review, land use and industrial planning and permitting, construction assessments, noise and vibration monitoring, and more. Supporting both attended and unattended field measurement programs. Delivering projects on time and on budget, following a defined quality assurance process. Advising clients on developing, implementing, and evaluating noise control solutions. Taking a client-focused approach, where your technical skills support the success of your clients’ projects. Supporting projects both large and small across North America. Note that practitioners within the NAV team are purely technical. This role does not involve project management. There is, however, substantial opportunity to build relationships with clients and support the project management team.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in applicable engineering, with coursework or specialization in vibration and/or acoustics
  • Applicants without P.E. eligibility, but with significant applicable experience may be considered
  • Valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to sites as needed both in and around Michigan
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time across North America
  • Ability to meet deadlines, willingness to put in the effort required to complete work on schedule and within budget
  • Self-reliant, but also able to work well within a team environment
  • Willingness to travel (at least 50% of the time) and conduct field work (including occasional nights and weekends)
  • Physical requirements: standing/walking for extended periods, lifting objects up to 50lbs, and work/climb on elevated equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity/proficiency with CADNA/A, SoundPLAN, CAD/Graphics packages is an asset
