About The Position

Vantage Point Solutions, a growing and dynamic broadband consulting and engineering firm, is seeking qualified individuals to join our team of professionals. We have an immediate opening for an Engineering Staff team member at our Huron, SD office. The Huron office serves an established client base in the eastern Dakotas by offering engineering and permitting services in multiple areas, including agriculture, wastewater, geotechnical, and general civil applications.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail (proofreading, validating data, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal communication in person, over the phone, via email, and other digital platforms
  • Strong written communication (reports, permit applications, etc.)
  • Accountability; ability to take ownership and responsibility for assignments, duties, and projects
  • Proficiency in common Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn
  • Adaptability and multi-tasking proficiency
  • Ability to perform field work
  • Lift 50lb items if required
  • B.S. degree in engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field from a university or applicable experience

  • Progress toward obtaining Professional Engineer licensure

Responsibilities

  • Work with colleagues and clients to usher projects through various stages, from start to finish.
  • Manage projects that may include multi-year, phased construction projects; permit applications with tight deadlines; local government permitting, environmental due diligence, construction oversight; and other initiatives.
  • Serve in multiple capacities ranging from field work and data collection to preparing plans and specifications for review by the supervising Professional Engineer.
  • Perform construction inspections and interact with clients and contractors.
  • Communicate frequently with clients and vendors.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate well with other members of the team.
  • Proactively seek to help team members push a project to the finish line.
