About The Position

Vantage Point Solutions is seeking qualified individuals to join their team of professionals as an Engineering Staff member at their Huron, SD office. This role involves working with colleagues and clients on various project stages, including multi-year construction projects, permit applications, local government permitting, environmental due diligence, and construction oversight. The candidate will be involved in field work, data collection, preparing plans and specifications, construction inspections, and client/contractor interaction. This position requires frequent communication with clients and vendors, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, professional, adaptable, detail-oriented, and possesses strong interpersonal communication skills. This is a team-oriented role where the candidate will take ownership of tasks, collaborate effectively, and proactively contribute to project completion. While this position does not have supervisory responsibility, opportunities for promotion exist for candidates who demonstrate the necessary abilities.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail (proofreading, validating data, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal communication in person, over the phone, via email, and other digital platforms
  • Strong written communication (reports, permit applications, etc.)
  • Accountability; ability to take ownership and responsibility for assignments, duties, and projects
  • Proficiency in common Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn
  • Adaptability and multi-tasking proficiency
  • Ability to perform field work
  • Ability to lift 50lb items if required
  • B.S. degree in engineering, environmental science, or a closely related field from a university or applicable experience

Responsibilities

  • Work with colleagues and clients to usher projects through various stages, from start to finish.
  • Engage in field work and data collection.
  • Prepare plans and specifications for review by the supervising Professional Engineer.
  • Perform construction inspections.
  • Interact with clients and contractors.
  • Communicate frequently with clients and vendors.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
