About The Position

VCNA is seeking an Environmental Manager to oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives at their plant. This role involves obtaining permits, preparing reports, coordinating monitoring, and acting as the primary contact for environmental agencies. The manager will develop and implement environmental strategies, approve programs in collaboration with engineering, and manage key performance indicators. A strong focus will be placed on integrating sustainability into daily operations, managing the department budget, and liaising with the community on environmental matters. The position also requires ensuring timely completion of all environmental reports, promoting awareness of environmental issues, training staff, participating in the energy management team, and maintaining the ISO 14001 environmental management system. Auditing environmental performance and reporting to internal and external clients are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals on behalf of the plant.
  • Prepare environmental reports.
  • Coordinate monitoring and testing of wastewater discharges, air emissions, and waste streams.

  • Ensure that all required reports are completed on time and that appropriate safeguards are provided in defined policies and procedures.
  • Promote awareness at all levels of the organization of the impact of emerging environmental issues on legal, corporate, ethical, and social responsibility.
  • Train staff at all levels of the organization in environmental issues and responsibilities.
  • Be a member of the E=MC2 energy management team.
  • Implement, maintain, and certify the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
