About The Position

The position manages, directs, and functions as the Deputy Director for the Washington County Health Department’s Environmental Health Program. Its purpose is to protect public health through an effective regulatory, inspection, and education program.

Requirements

• Meet the Maryland State Board of Environmental Sanitarians’ certificate of eligibility requirements for Environmental Sanitarians.
• Have five years of experience performing environmental health inspections and investigations to ensure compliance, including two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist from the Maryland Board of Environmental Health Specialists.
• Possess a valid Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license if assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle.
• Applicants must be current Washington County Health Department employees.
