About The Position

The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager is responsible for providing direction and support for all EH&S activities, including implementation, monitoring, and review of C&W compliance/performance. This role requires 25-50% national travel and bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in Environmental Health and Safety in a Manufacturing or Facility Maintenance environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • BA/BS in Safety, Engineering or related sciences preferred
  • Safety Certification (CSP or CIH) preferred
  • Demonstrable success in Systems Management across multiple accounts/sites
  • Subject Matter Expertise in EHS and relevant US Standards
  • Well versed in OH&S legislation and regulation
  • Well-developed research and report writing skills
  • Sound Investigative and Auditing skills supported by formal training

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and lead the deployment of C&W’s EH&S programs across the US, to ensure safety is part of day-to-day operations at each site within the Portfolio
  • Effectively communicate C&W’s safety culture and operating philosophies
  • Assist in the identification of possible losses; evaluate the risk in such loss exposure; develop and implement a plan to correct or prevent a loss; and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness
  • Maintain and update as needed SOP’s for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day to day training
  • Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
  • Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements
  • Review incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and conduct field audits, report and manage the corrective actions
  • Support Workers Compensation (WC) claims tracking, investigation, and management process
  • Liaise with WC Program Manager and benefits group on all aspects of injury management and rehabilitation
  • Support compliance with all EH&S record keeping requirements, including corporate and regulatory compliance/program documentation, e.g., auditing, training, medical, and OSHA records
  • Participate in site inspections and third-party audits to assure/verify regional compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations
  • Travel to field sites, as required (>25%)
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure the online safety training platform meets industry standards and OSHA requirements
  • Collaborate with other service lines and global EH&S to implement programs and initiatives employed across C&W Services
  • Review Policies & Procedures process specific to EH&S, as well as support sites in preparation of their manuals for Emergency Procedures
