About The Position

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist works closely with the Ladysmith Plant Manager and site leadership team to develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and Rockwell Automation guidelines. This role is responsible for driving EHS initiatives across the facility, supporting compliance efforts, developing employee training programs, participating in assessments and improvement activities, and helping foster a strong culture of health and safety throughout the site. You will work onsite at our plant in Ladysmith, WI and will report to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Nice To Haves

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Professional degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Safety, Environmental Sciences or Engineering, or similar program.
  • Professional Safety / Environmental Certifications (CSP, CIH, REM).
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, EPA, DOT, WDNR, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented style are deemed important for this role.
  • Ability to influence and coach all levels of the organization to ensure effective EHS performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Manage the environmental, industrial, health and safety regulations management team for Ladysmith facility.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Handle all contact with appropriate agencies.
  • Oversee the preparation of contracts for waste disposal firms and monitor waste handling.
  • Develop and oversee company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety.
  • Work with the site leadership team to develop a vision and strategic plan for EHSS as part of strategy deployment.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve process ergonomics
  • Attend EHS committee and team meetings and present at monthly meetings.
  • Assist with EHS assessments.
